Default Is Rome (HBO series) comming to Blu-ray?

Hi!!

Does anyone know if Rome Season I & II will come to blu-ray?? If so, when?
I don't buy DVD's at all (don't want to go back) but I really love Rome.

Why can't Wicky chime and tell us it's on the list for the holiday season.

Rome is my favorite HBO series next to the Sopranos and it looked absolutely beautiful on HBO-HD. It is an absolute crime that Rome has not been released on Blu-ray yet.

Wicky has stated before that this was not a major hit for HBO. So this is probably not high on their list to get out on Blu. You will see more Sopranos before you see this. Believe me, I would love to see these and I would buy them immediately, but the earliest may be next year, but that is still probably pushing it.

I was a big fan of this series, and was sorry to see it end. It's one of the very few things that I've purchased on SDVD since going Blu. On the bright side, they do upconvert nicely. As much as I liked the series, I'm not sure that I would replace my SDVD copy. Maybe if the price was right though.

I was going to create a topic but I found this one so I thought I'd ask and see if there'd been any updates since June 08 on this show coming to Blu-ray?

I just wanted to ask because I'm awfully tempted to buy the DVD set:

You've gotta admit it's sexy looking.

Great show. I love it.

I was a little sad how much the boy changes over the course of the show. He was my favorite character. Still it's cool in that it shows how much a person can change.

I thought he was way too cocky.

I especially enjoyed the character of Titos Pulo. Great guy.

This show is just begging for a BD release. Even on HBOHD it looked amazing. I really wish HBO would get in gear and start releasing more BDs and hopfully more at or around the price BoB is on Blu. I can stomach $50 each a lot easier than the ridiculous $90 for half a season of The Sopranos they pulled initially.

In fairness, Octavian only changed because they knew that was the last season so they had to fast forward through much of history.

The show would have been even MORE amazing had it been given 4+ seasons.

This is one of only three shows that I ever intend on buying on BD (Deadwood and Dexter are the other two). I haven't seen anything on this even being mentioned as coming to BD in the future but that isn't shocking given how HBO has taken it's sweet time to put anything on the format.
