Sure Grand Theft Auto IV wasn't perfect, but it was fun!

Saint's Row 2 looks to put in everything that GTA IV left out, but we can compare it to GTA IV when it comes out later this year.

Post what you didn't like about 'em or anything you felt was missing

So post your opinions about which you think will be the "Next-Gen" standard for sandbox games?!

If you think there might be another sandbox game that might trump both, post your opinion!

yes you can put your complaints/stuff you want to see in either of them if you want to!

Its hard to say before seeing it. Saint rows graphic doesnt seem to be that impressive, and It seems to be too much alike GTA (but a in a more dirty way)... so I would go with Prototype. (this one seems to be really good, at lease it the bit of infos we have)

gta is too repetitive.
saints row was a gta hack.
saints row 2 will be a great improvement over saints row 1
a new kid on the block (my money is on infamous) will win.

The Getaway, but then again I'm biased as a friend of mine worked on it at Team Soho...

It's not cancelled, just postponed indefinitely while Sony concentrate on other areas of the market. SCE London Studio are working on Home, EyePet and another couple of undisclosed games.

I fully expect Getaway PS3 will be made, just not until the market position is a little more secure.

Even though the graphics dont compare, I preferred Saints Row over GTA4. Saints Row had alot of fun activities that kind of added new ideas to the genre. GTA4 was just the same old GTA as before, with LESS things to do. Yeah, one of the draws to Saints Row is that its much more violent, and cartoony than GTA, but thats part of the appeal to me. Im hoping Saints Row 2 is like the original but better. Hell, i liked Mercs 2 over GTA 4. Thats not saying that GTA4 is bad, the graphics are awesome, best of all the sandbox games, but there isnt a whole lot to do.

I haven't played Saints Row 2 yet, so I can't vote for or against that. I did play GTA 4 and did not care for it. My vote goes to Mercenaries 2. Despite mediocre reviews, there is much fun to be hand in this game. Plenty of great vehicles (love the Panzercycle) and weapons. And the ability to blow up anything and everything is soooo fun. I also discovered the ability to bribe a faction that was hostile towards me, eliminates my regrets for killing/kidnapping their members when they appear as HVTs.

Useless comment, you can't compare them until Saints Row is actually available.

Saints Row had everything the previous GTA's had and alot more. Obviously we dont know what 2 will have , but aside from graphics, im thinking its going to have alot more too it.

hmm you might be right on that. I havent played it in like 2 years. Now i wonder if 2 will have those. Both would be cool.

GTA IV is hardly a sandbox game
It just has a lot of repetitive missions and you don't get to build your story (only 1 choice at the end that would change your ending, that's hardly a sandbox)

Infamous has my vote, it looks better then anything to me right now, haha... also L.A. Noire if its even getting worked on will blow GTA out of the water, but out of those two games... GTA IV gets my vote, GTA had some nasty looking graphics but Saints Row looks like crap rolled up in a babys diaper, seriously, it looks last gen... like a Wii game
