Default Who is Without Power Due to Ike?

I know, if you don't have power, you probably wouldn't be on the site right now.

Just curious to see how many members were affected by Ike. I live in Louisville, KY, and we currently have ~200K folks without power due high winds on Sunday. I'm one of them, and they are talking the possibility of being without power for 1-2 weeks. We've got power at work, so that helps a little. My wife drove 8 hrs round trip to WVa yesterday to pick up a generator, so we have a little power now at home. As soon as I can get it hard-wired into my breaker, we'll have hot water in addition to a few lights, fridge and a TV. No blu or HD, though!

If you get a Honda EU2000i you could power your Blu and HD equipment. That's what I did. It's actually an inverter generator. It make AC then recitfies it to DC and finally inverts it to a pure AC sine wave.

Exclamation The problem with this thread . . .

. . . is that most of those without power (and internet/cable/phone) will not be able to post.

There will be some -- those with Blackberries or iPhones etc or who are staying at a relative's house or posting from a Starbuck's on their laptop, etc.

Our thoughts are with all those in the Texas gulf area & Houston.

no power outages up here in STL area, but we got major rain over the weekend that ended up flooding a lot of people out of homes and businesses, a levee broke near a walgreens near my house and the water rose so fast, some of the employees and customers were trapped inside and had to be rescued by the fire dept. hope everybody in tx is ok also, my sister and brother in law live in lubbock

In my county in the Houston area, we probably have less than 1000 homes with power. Our county is still a mess...and we (emergency responders) are all still operating in disaster mode and our 9-1-1 call volume is about 250% of normal.
