Default Capcom getting its own beach front property on the PSN

Well, figuratively speaking

Capcom will be the first publisher (more would probably follow suite) to get their own category in the PSN, starting in November.
Would this augure of a closer relationship between Sony and Capcom? Who knows, for now, it's all about advertising content on the PSN

http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=199769

Quote:
Capcom will be the first publisher to get its own publisher-specific storefront on Sony's PS Store on PS3.

The Capcom storefront will launch in November, sporting a slick grey background with Street Fighter, Mega Man and Bionic Commando images around the outside, as seen in this image.

“Out of all of the third-party companies making use of the digital space, [Sony] recognizes Capcom is one of the best partners for content,” said John Diamonon, product manager of Capcom digital titles, adding: “We're supporting PlayStation Network like no other company.”

Other publishers are likely to take advantage of the publisher-specific storefront feature in the near future,

Capcom's Christian Svensson, VP of business development and strategic planning is full of praise for PSN. He told Edge Online: “Sony's taking advantage of--in a very real way--one of the benefits of digital, in that there are multiple ways to sort, search and put things in front of people. In a physical store, that physical object can only exist in one physical space.

“With digital, that object can be highlighted in about 20 different ways. I think Sony is first to recognize that. The more opportunities that someone has a chance to see or be exposed to our content… the more likely it is that someone will give a Capcom title a shot.”

One thing I noticed but forgot to post before is that there's a search icon in that pic. On the gaming, not video side of the store.

Well we're still waiting for the original Resident Evil to be released outside of Japan. When they do, it better be the directors cut version.

I've just beat them all recently. RE3 is even better than RE2.

You mean Resident Evil 0 right (2002)?
Because the original Resident Evil was on PSone and I think had a worldwide release back in 1996...

You've forgot Code veronic

RE4>RE3>RE2>RE1>RECV

But again, i think RE4 and RE5 should not really be compared to the others... there are too different... action horror versus survival horror

So would I, I'd be all over it. RE2 is one of my favourite games of all time. Get to it Capcom.

No, no, there was a directors cut version for the PSone back in September '97. Although your idea is good too, as long as they still have the Jill sandwitch of the master of lockpicking lines.

If I'm not wrong there were even 2 director cut version one with dualshock suport and one without. (I've just bought it on amazon market place with RE3)

it was good, but its the exact games play than RE3-2-1 with better graphics and a lot less atomsphere. The opening scene is really awsome tho.

Yeah, you're right, but I don't really think theres really a point of re-releasing an already dated game about twice more, just for minor features.

I'd buy a remake of RE4 with HD graphics and lossless surround

This is very important giving publishers a voice on PSN is massive. Right now EA, Activision, Capcom and the rest of them have got only one company in their sights. Gamestop. Used games are a great way of recycling something that you have already played, and it has been a part of the market for a long time, but Gamestop abuse it. They actively try and stop people buying new copies and steer people to used copies (on which they have a much higher mark up).

Capcom can now sell their games directly to PS3 consumers at whatever price they want without fear of it being undercut by a used copy at Gamestop.

It wouldn't surprise me to see EA and Take2 set out their own stall on PSN as a prelude to Home stores.

Look at the 25 publisher companies that signed up. Capcom is only just the start
