Default Back to the Future Part III - Is it really that bad?

I went to a bunch of my friends on facebook today asking them to rank and rate all of the Back to the Future films and every one of them rated the third film incredibly low (and ranked it the lowest) and told me the film is horrible/garbage and not to watch it. And I went to five people and they all gave me similar responses. I saw it when I was little and have barely any memory of it. Is it really that bad? I was going to watch it today, but now I am having second thoughst and might just watch something better instead.

WTF, it's set in the wild west and has a cameo by ZZ Top, what is there not to love?! Here's my ranking of the BTTF's

1) BTTF
2) BTTF III
3) BTTF II

Back to the Future is my favorite movie. The second and third are very entertaining as well. I've never understand all the hate for the third to be honest...It's just as good as the other two. People used to talk down about it all the time back in high school and middle school and I always found myself being the only one who ever defended it. I actually like it more then the second, I like how much lighter it is then the second. It feels more like the first movie to me

Back to the Future Part III has been an underrated film ever since it came out. Don't listen to your friends, it's a good movie.

Compared to the first two films (especially the first) it is.

What makes it so bad? I'm just trying to understand why people don't like it so much.

I myself, prefer Part Two to either the first or the third. By the third, the premise got a bbit old and tired and had a lot of the old west movie cliches.

No, the third one is great, as far as the BTTF trilogy is concerned. I think it really shows the full evolution of both characters and love the way the two actors feed off of each other in the end.

Completely agree. The fact that Marty and Doc both completely switch roles makes it even more interesting I think. I enjoy the third movie greatly

BTTF 3 is better than Matrix 3, Scream 3, Friday the 13th 3, Pirates 3, Resident Evil 3. Just give a try
