A really interesting looking French language sci-fi flick. It's on Blu overseas, but I'm getting conflicting info on the fabulous inter-web. Does anyone know for sure if it's all region or region B?

According to the Hi-Def Release List, this is ABC... can anyone confirm that?

the french blu rays are rarely region coded(except those from studios like fox for instance that have the same dumbass policy everywhere) , i actualy got this blu ray i even bought it the firs day it was released last month since the trailer seemed so great, at the end i was more or less disapointed, there are 3 bad stuff about this movie and 2 very good stuff,
the bad ones:
(1)story(plot etc) not great,(2) some moment strane, for instance the main character is running for several sec after the bad guy but he s just behind him and never catch him, even worse a terrible mistake by a cop woman that you just can t trust it would actually happen(don t want to say too much) apparently just created to make the story the way the director wanted. ( in the fight the characters dont not to say can t obviously lift their legs to kick the other, which is sad since otherwise) good ones(1)the fight scenes are very good, energic and realistic.. all that is shot is very stylized , it s very beautiful to watch it..

watch it but don t hope too much, it is above all things a stylized movie about identity with good visual and fight sewuences but also weak story and some strange moments( the mistake and other weird thing that happn or don t happen..)

I tried to watch this a couple of nights ago, just released on UK dvd. While the plot was okay, the fight scenes did nothing for me as I wasn't convinced by the actors. The main character looks like someone's dad who strolled onto set and somehow ended up onscreen, I wasn't convinced by his supposed toughness whatsoever.

So is it confirmed that the blu-ray version on amazon.fr is region free?

while we're at it...there are english subtitles right? If i'm going to consider spending ~ $50 usd I want to be positive.

thanks in advance!

I saw this tonight at the seattle int'l film festival. The plot wasn't out of this word but i liked the visuals and the noir-style...

I'm in Germany, region B.

I am using a (region free) htpc for playback and i have found the information it gives about regions to be unreliable.

took me a while to follow up...but if anyone else is still interested.

I picked up the french blu-ray off of ebay a few weeks ago and it does seem to be region free (works fine using my US PS3) and as someone else said, there are english subtitles.

Likewise. For a second there, I thought it might be a movie adaptation of the classic John Wyndham Sci-fi novel "The Chrysalids".

Since we are on the topic of French movies being region free, does anybody know if Frontieré(s) is coming out anytime region free.
