Got the 3.0 update this morning. Looks a little different, but mainly the look is the same.

edit- Ah i did notice one thing, and its good- the radio works much better! Ive been sitting in the same cube here now for over a year and could NEVER get reception from the radio where i am. Now, it comes in strong and clear. Dunno what they did, but i like it!

2nd edit - Yay ! you can finally FF through the mp3s at a faster rate. I listen to O&A each day on it, and it used to FF REAL SLOW. Like maybe a minute forward per second. Now you can zoom real quick if you hold it down.

I don't have a zune, and don't like them personally. But why would ANY of you come on here just to say how much they suck? You KNOW this site doesn't record post numbers right...?

Does the Zune update also work for the 1st gen? I've got a 30gig sitting here that I will update if so.

it reminds me somewhat of the format wars. except there are many formats thriving and surviving instead of one clear winner.

you cant record from FM

but there is a new taging feature where if you here a song you like, and the Fm station is broadcasting the song data, you can tag it, and purchase the song from the Mp

Yes, im using a 1st gen 30gb myself and it is fully backwards compatible. I got my Zune for free from a MS rep back before they came out, and I was thinking eh, it wont be as good as an ipod...but once you use it, its awesome! Im thinking of buying the new 120gb one instead of a ipod.

I really like my 30gig- I got it for $99 thanks to good old Woot and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I haven't paid much attention to firmware and such since the big jump to 2.0 or whatever, so I'm probably behind. I'll look into updating it tonight for sure though.

Thanks for the update- I wouldn't have even noticed.

Updated my first gen Zune. 3.0 is pretty cool, it's nice having a few games to play and a clock! I see there is an equalizer option. Is that part of 3.0 or did I just miss it before?

i think the eq is new

I'm dying to find out where some of you see an EQ option because last I checked it's still not available. At least not on my newly updated 80gig Zune.
