Lightbulb Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray Trilogy Pictures

I got my Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray trilogy from Amazon today, here are some high-quality pics of it.

OK... that's interesting. The first and third movies didn't come with a slip cover, but they included it on the second.

Yeah, that's pretty annoying. I really liked the slipcover for #3 too... meh.

Not a biggie, at least they're in the box so the lack of slipcovers doesn't stand out.

I have never understood why some people are so concerned about slipcovers.

The second and third movies' slipcovers have a neat three dimensional effect and a nice swirly texture, respectively. They're not just repetitive slipcovers, like Cars and many others. These actually add some class to the movie package.

It's not a concern on my part. I just found it awkward that they would package in such fashion.

Not very imaginative of them to only use Johnny Depp's face on all 3 panels - boring in fact. They could have used three different actors.

I'm not so annoyed by the slipcovers as I am the price. I held off on the $20 a piece sales thinking the trilogy can be bought for $45 or $50 and now the trilogy releases at $20 a piece and with missing slipcovers. Lame.

My trilogy set came with no slipcovers, and a measley 125 diney rewards points.

This packaging is so inconsistent it's giving me a headache. They so missed an opportunity to have a nice package. I would have been happy to have just the skull and crossbones on the front with a title. Instead they just dumped whatever copies of the three movies were lying around (slipcovered or not) into a cheap box which is basically an advertisement for Johnny Depp and Disney Blu-Ray (while I like each of these things on their own, it was totally unnecessary to package this way).

While one could say, "who cares? It is the movies that matter." the fact is that a bit of class and care can elevate even something as basic as packaging beyond the mundane. Way to aim for excellence.

I personally don't care about the slipcovers. It's what's inside that matters more to me. The video is spectacular.

Couldn't agree more. I resisted and passed on the three blu-ray releases to wait for a trilogy box set and this is what I get?

That's a subjective opinion, many people really like these movies. I for one would like to see the potential of Blu-ray properly utilized on ALL releases, not just the ones that I'm interested in.

I only like the first of the three so I only bought the first one.

I also am not into slip covers. I think the Transformers Blu-Ray looks way better without the slip so I actually discarded it.

Well isn't Pirates 4 in talks? And if that does happen your just going to have to get a new set with all the movies anyways. Thats why I am holding off with Indy 4 because in a year or so they will release all 4 films together and the film company will make you pay for that movie all over again.
