Default Home improvement question

I need to find some sort of solution for my sliding glass door. It's a standard sliding door, two doors wide. I currently have vertical blinds that I've had for four years. My problem is, I have three dogs and two cats that wreak havoc upon my blinds. I've had three louvres where the piece above the slot that holds the louvre into the clip break, and I've either lost the pieces or they're just not repairable anymore.

So, I'm looking for something that may work better for my situation. The blinds are closed 90% of the time. I need something that will block the most amount of sunlight and will also hold up to daily abuse by pets. Also, it needs to be made of a material that is easy to clean from dogs/cats rubbing on them, so no fabrics. The blinds I have are a PVC material, which works great, so something like that is optimal. Any opinions are welcome!
