Hey All
I'm not sure where this thread should go, so if anyone wants to move it to a more appropriate forum section, go ahead. With the upcoming influx of classic horror films already on Blu-Ray or will be coming in the next month or so, I'm thinking that for this year, I want to have sort of a Hi-Def Halloween festival at my place for some friends. Just to not only show off the home theater system, but also to catch up with old friends, show them the apartment and just watch some scary movies. I'm just wondering if anyone is planning something similar to this, and if the films I have planned would work. I'm thinking that it would be spread out between the Thursday through Sunday of the weekend before Halloween (on the 31st itself, I want to see not only ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO, but also this really cool double feature at the RPL.). And that it would be two movies a night (with possibly three on Sunday night) and each night the films would be linked by one another. Thursday THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET (This is my Tim Burton musical night, to start us off light) Friday YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ARMY OF DARKNESS (I know this one isn't on Blu-Ray, but I needed another comedy/horror to go along with it) Saturday THE THING THE DESCENT (If you think about it, these two have a whole lot in common. I'm wondering if maybe I should switch the order around) Sunday POLTERGEIST THE SHINING (Obviously the ghost night) I also really want to show the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, but I can't really think of another film to pair it up with thematically. I suppose it could be a Tobe Hooper night, but that then leaves out THE SHINING, and to no show that would be blasphemy. The titles I mentioned above are the only horror films on Blu-Ray that I either have or will be getting. Thoughts/comments/suggestions? |
