Default I'm tired of my evening being interupted!

I am tired of having to stop midway through my evening to download new firmware onto a disk and then load it onto my Blue Ray player. This is BS and if Sony gets like Apple when it comes to software/firmware updates, I will get rid of the machine and not use it any longer, HD be damned. If they want firmware updates in order to play a movie, load it on the movie disk. I am not Sony's firmware ***** who continuously loads new firmware in order to see a friday night flick, I will simply go back to my tried and true DVD player that has worked forever and suffer without HD movies.

See I don't get this. My buddy has the same set-up. He has a PS3 but no internet or HD TV. Maybe he's saving up for one.

Well then don't complain. Cause that would have solved your problem.

Dude. What type of BD player do you have? It can make a big difference by just by switching players. With the PS3, its only a couple clicks and your system is updated unlike the way you're doing it. You shouldn't ever stress yourself out with stuff thats not your job or spouse.

Well then, get an HD-DVD player. Its cheaper than ever before, its harmless, and you don't have to worry about updates.

Well, I think you need to be removed from these forums. You need to quit being ignorant now or there will be consequences.

Look,

I posted a legit complaint about the BD player which is not a PS3. I shouldn't have to D/L firmware. It was you guys who started giving me crap starting with Blu-Ron. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then go to someone else's thread, why thread jack mine? If people want to post jabs, then don't act offended if I jab back. Don't give it if you can't take it.

Could just get any other 2.0 player don't have to be a PS3. Any player you can hook up online will help you with not having to interrupt your evening. Just another suggestion to try out.

Take your own path and learn the hard way.

Get a VCR, no updates required.

All kidding a side. I agree with you, my buddy has a sony blu player and he is about ready to take a sledgehammer to it. He burns the updates to a disk every time he needs an update and hates it. The PS3 is the best way to go, but you will have the same problem.

I bought my Blue Ray about 6 months ago. I would be very reluctant to buy another brand new one so I can go online with it after I spent $250 on this one. The house is also not wired as it is older.
