The DVD covers were better. These aren't bad though (not like the Collateral and Minority Report covers which were huge steps down from the DVDs), but these are at least a small step down.

What was wrong with using the original posters as the cover art? They were much better than the above covers.

Looks good to me. The case is secure. I care more about that along with the PQ and AQ, than I do the artwork on the case.

I care about the PQ and AQ the most as well , but its a shame that Bluray has for the most part suffered bad coverart, uninspired menus and lack of special features compared to the DVD format. Atleast in my experience.

Its always more noticeable when replacing a DVD with a Bluray version. Although the majority of bogart and other classic dvd releases were uninspired so I guess I shouldn't expect so much. Now if they would just give me The Big Sleep & Key Largo.

I love the cover for The Maltese Falcon, but as has already been posted I am more concerned about PQ and AQ as I'm not going to stare at the cover. It will be on my shelf with just the spine showing.

Can't wait. I'm happy to see the covers, I now have more assurance that these movies will be released.

Sierra Madre isn't bad, but Falcon is hideous. Why the garish red? The DVD covers were better for both films.

disappointing to say the least.
many times on bd Warner has used the dvd artwork.
honestly, I'm kind of shocked at those pics.
really hard to believe those will actually be the covers.
as for the pq, surely with Warner's track record on restored classics like these, no-one should be the least bit concerned.
I'm sure they will be amazing.

Those WERE the DVD cases, which cover designs have now been copyrighted, and, sadly, Used.
Next idea.

The cover art looks fantastic for both movies. Really want to get my hands on those two movies.

Tasteless. Thank God I won't be looking at those covers while I'm watching the films.

Who the hell does Warner Bros. hire to make this crap? Must be people who've never seen the films... and who have downright bad taste.

Meh. Don't like Treasure of Sierra Madre's cover. At least The Maltese Falcon's is better than the 3-disc DVD.

actually they were awful. i don't get why original movie artwork is so bad. they've already SPENT MONEY on artists to make the movie posters. why not keep it cheap and re-use it. it costs MORE $ to redesign!

som1 in the custom cover group made a great minority report cover and it was from original poster

Not sure the thinking behind these covers. I prefer the poster art.

Won't stop me from purchasing these titles--- Day 1.

Look at the classy DVD set cover (in comparison to the BD's):

I wonder if WB is gonna port over the ealier versions of The Maltese Falcon that were included on the 3 disc DVD. If not, I will be happy to upgrade the 1941 film on BD, and keep my original DVD set.
