Default Forbidden Kingdom

I love Jet Li and Jackie Ching. They were excellent in that Iron Monkey marshall arts film. Has anyone seen Forbidden Kingdom? I want to preorder it, but the when I read that in this film a guy from today is whisked back in time it really made me feel gun shy about preordering this film from Amazon. It sounds so Back to the Future in Chinese.

Who saw it and is it any good?

HaHa Jackie Ching
Don't know bout pre ordering, I will definitely get it though. Why preorder when they will have plenty? Besides, you wouldn't know now who has for the cheapest.

It was indeed a good movie, when i heard that the "white" kid (as people called him when they told me about the movie) was the main character i was very skeptical because I like mostly everyone wanted the main characters to be Jet Li and Jackie Chan, but it still was a kickass movie, it surprised me alot especially with the bully in the movie

this movie have some of the prettiest face Chinese girls. One of them was in Return of the condor heroes. Though I have on DVD, will still buy the BD for pretty faces.

There is a pretty good special feature on them called Dangerous Beauty. It doesn't dig very deep but I thought it was pretty interesting and it provided some good background info on them.

Agree! The PQ is gorgeous! Definitely a 9.5/10 rating from me. And the film is a lot of fun too (7.5/10 rating). I'm gonna wait to find this one day on sale for under $20.00 though. Maybe on an Amazon buy two get one free sale.

Default Pretty Good Kung Fu Flick

If you take the movie as it is, it was pretty good. The storyline was average but to the point. Action scenes were awesome. You could tell the bass was working because every single punch and kick (well mostly from Jet Li and Jackie Chan) were filled with thumps and bumps. The reason for the high PQ is also due to the fact they shot this with a high definition camera. Some may see though that it almost looks too 3-D, in other words you can see edging and stuff but it doesn't matter, colours are excellent and skin tones natural. Although, I don't know the history behind this story, I found some of the acting of the characters to be a bit overdone but I'll leave that for you to judge. Overall, a good buy, you shouldnt be disappointed if your a kung fu movie fan.

Default It Was Surprising...I LOVED IT

As a kid I used to really get into those B kung fu movies. As I grew up, I got away from that. I remembered what I loved about those old b kung fu films when I watched Forbidden Kingdom, which is just a suped up version of those old kung fu films. Luckily, the story was extremely good. It wasn't too foreign to push away american audiences. The movie has fantastic fight scenes, good dose of comedy, and great dialogue. Another thing is the fantastic scenery. I watched this movie on standard DVD from a Redbox at Mcdonalds. Afterwards, I thought Forbidden Kingdom would look so much better on Blu-Ray. Later, I wanted to watch this movie again, but I had to return it. That is a good sign I should have a movie in Blu-Ray. I also wanted to go out and learn kung fu. That is also a good sign the movie is good. I also noticed different presentations of Jet Li and Jackie Chan from their american movies. I am more impressed with them in their comfortable chinese surroundings. Jet Li is a little hard to understand. Same thing for Jackie Chan, but I'm glad they spoke English (or at least tried).

Right now, I'm waiting till Dark Knight is up for pre-order. I'm going to order Dark Knight, Forbidden Kingdom, and Happening in a 3 for 2 Amazon deal. Forbidden Kingdom over $20 is too much especially with prices dropping so fast. For example, Transformers.
