Warner Bros. has revealed details surrounding the Blu-ray edition of Sucker Punch, which has been confirmed for a June 28th release date. The Extended Cut will feature an additional 18 minutes of footage and has been rated R, which is a bump up from the film's PG-13 theatrical rating.

The release will also contain a picture in picture commentary track with director Zach Snyder and the feature, Animated Shorts: Sucker Punch Prequel Stories. This will all be housed in a Warner Bros. combo pack featuring a DVD version and digital copy of the film. Further information regarding additional special features have yet to be determined.

I saw this at the theater but with a very poor projector...I'll pick it up if for no other reason to see it in HD on my own projector as Snyder's films are always a feast for the eyes.

I wonder if Warner's is going to release the extended cut to theaters, prior to the home video release like they did with 'Watchmen' (extended cut)

I also did not get to see this in theaters so I am interested in picking this up is that a release date for the states as well or just Canada?

canadian and us versions usually have the same release date.

Flawed as hell but the most ambitious film, visually and thematically, I've seen this year, easily. Nobody will have an issue with Snyder when it comes to the action in Man of Steel, after viewing this film.

There's one particular action sequence towards the final third of the film that's next level filmmaking. It's a show stopper. It's an evolutionary riff on a particular action sequence he did in 300 but times 100...

Snyder pushed the envelope, visually with this film.

Again, it's flawed as hell but I'm betting that the director's cut will elevate some of the issues.

i read so much hate against this movie.im a huge Zack Snyder fan and to me this is a blind buy.

Saw this in the theater and felt mixed about it (particularly the ending). However, it's visually impressive, the fantasy sequences are a lot of fun, the score is awesome and I'm intrigued by this "extended" cut.

It's not an extended cut. Snyder has said repeatedly that this is his director's cut that we'll get on Blu Ray.

Liked the movie but didn't like the score. There was too much music. Regardless, I will still buy it when the price is right.

While I would love to see it come out on June 28th, I just hope that an earlier release doesn't mean a compromised amount of special features
