Default S350 BD-Live Help

I'm new to Blu ray, my first player will arrive tomorrow (S350) and a firmware update is on its way also (via Sony). I have little information about this BD-Live function, I know it helps you access aditional material from the net but what if I don't have any internet access at home? Do I still need the USB installed in the player? If I don't hook up one now, will that affect the download time of a movie and perhaps something else?
Can anybody help this technological impaired parent?
Sorry I had to move this question from the newbie forum but it seems like a lot more people check this forum and I might get help faster. Thanks.

BD-Live is Only for Internet Extra. When you'll update you're player it will ask you if you want Internet on or OFF (Allow or Deny). If you don't have internet, simply select deny and don't plug any USB Key in it. That wait the 'Software'(Movie) will know that you're not 2.0 compliant and will run in 1.1, skipping the Loading of BD-Live App..
