Uh, they did post numbers:

Consumers bought around 250,000 units of Blu-ray movies during the month, compared to the estimated 125,000 units of HD DVD movies, according to industry sources.

It will be 5 to 1 in sales before years end. Last to start but 1st to the finish. Sales will be huge this year with all the mega hits to come out. HD Dud has nothing in the way of new hits. The writing is on the wall for them.

Indeed, and I've been doing some major helping lately on Amazon.

“You can’t look at the last two months as a trend or as what the consumer wants to do in this format,” Graffeo said. “It’s really an artificial, short time period.”

Graffeo said Blu-ray numbers also are getting a boost from two-for-one specials offered by retailers and Blu-ray studios and noted that Amazon has halved the price of Blu-ray movies.
The numbers we know have certainly NOT been given boost from the Amazon sale that is only a week old.

"I have a whole bag of spin with your name on it."
"This is a pre-emptive spin."

The numbers I was talking about were ones comparing BR sales with DVD sales, since the article says that BR has debuted better than DVD.

BD grows faster than DVD? It would be pathetic if BD didn't.
Ah the beauty of a growing market (HD).

Exactly right. And Graffeo is obviously reaching here as the Amazon sale is 50% off of MSRP, not 50% off of the already reduced Amazon price. The sale effectively reduces the cost we pay Amazon by about $4-8 per title which is not a 50% off sale in the truest sense. If I can buy a Fox title for 27.95 on any normal day, does that mean that 19.97 (during the 50% off sale) is EFFECTIVELY a 50% off sale? I don't view it that way. I view it as a 29% off sale.

Like you said, it's pre-emptive spin on his part. He must be close friends w/ our buddy from Microsoft.
