Default Best Buy and Me

So I was in Best Buy the other day at lunch and I walked into the theatre room and they had Transformers on blu, so of course I was interested. I sat in the seat they have in there and watched for a second. Then I got up and started messing with the audio receivers and the speaker configuration. Sat back down, then it hit me the LCD and the Plasma were both orange-ish. SO I got up clicked on the menu button on the side of the plasma 42PZ80U over to cinema mode and turned down the brightness a little and adjusted the color... aahh, much better. then I went to the 46" Sharp Aquos, and did the same (that menu sux) and really had to make adjustments, it was ok. So I got back up and did it again, and the pic was still getting better.. I turn around and there is a guy in a blue shirt and black pants looking at me like WTF are you doing. I said hello, he really didnt say anything just walked away. But when I left, I could tell he was still looking at me.

You know I couldn't believe that I got the death stare. Also, it shocked me how off those TV's really are. And I know from my buddies 85U how good the blacks and colors are on plasma, but my sammy is really good too. The Sharp TV was seriously lacking color depth and black level. It was kind of crappy. When I got home I turned on my sammy and looked at the same scene and still my sammy was way better on blacks. Now I truely understand the whole "grey" issue you plasma fanboys talk about. Cause when I watch my sammy I am always like I don't get it, I am not watching GREY TV, but after seeing that Sharp... WOW. what a piece of visual $h!+.

My only TV recommendations are now Sammy, Sony and Panny.

All from real life side by side comparisons.

I think they should expect people to play with the settings. If I were to buy anything else (i.e. automobile) I would expect them to let me test out ALL of the features.

Your failure to list "Pioneer" shall earn you a trip to the gulag. A lifetime of torture.

Arush, I have never personnally seen a Pioneer, I try not to suggest things I don't know about personally.

Yes the blue shirt guy was BB employee. I don't think he was happy with me.

I know everyone here praises them, and so do the review websites, but I have yet to personally view one. I just don't think its right for me to suggest something I have no experience with.

I did tell my dad to go get one, but he is still in love with his SXRD, that is a great tv too BTW.

I will have to drive over to the BB on the other side of town, the one near me doesn't have a magnolia in it, I'm sure the other one would its bigger and near a bunch of other home theatre shops.
