I know it seems daft to complain about "too many movies!" but it really does seem since the influx of streaming movies, coupled with theatrical releases that there are just so many movies coming out that hardly any have the chance to make much of an impact. It also seems me to that movies don't seem to matter as much anymore as they have become much more disposable due to the sheer volume being produced. Do you find this to be true at all?
It is heartening to see certain recent movies making a genuine impact, such as Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water. These movies feel like the blockbusters of old that actually stuck around in cinemas for a good while, getting great repeat business. I guess this old fart misses the 90's when it was easier to keep track of everything being produced! ![]() |
