Default Monster PowerCenter Clicking noises

I have one of those Monster PowerCenter HTS 2000 strips and it has treated me very well so far .... but it occasionally - at totally random times - makes clicking noises. Is that normal? What happens when it makes a clicking noise like that? Is that when it supressed a power spike?

only time i've seen them clicking is when the protection circuit is tripped or when you first plug it in and it has to enable it all
