Help with Sony BDP-S350 - Blu-ray Forum

Just purchased a Sony BDP-S350.
Discovered it cannot play BD-RE (rewritables) although manual
says it does support BD-RE. Yes I updated software.
Only have a few days to return it, anyone out there know about this
problem and a fix?

DVD players are the same way, They wont play DVD RWs. Its not the fact that the player is broke, just that its not compatible with the format of the disc. The 350 is a great player and I personally dont know any standalones that play re's

I visited the store where I purchased the 350 & found that Sony's older model, the 300, will play BD-RE discs and so will a Samsung and every other player they had on the shelf. Their demo 350 would not play BD-RE's either.
The 350's manual specifically notes that BD-RE's are supported!
Sony could not explain by phone!

It could just be the disc, try another brand of disc and see if it works.

I gave up on the Sony 350, exchanged it for a Samsung!
