How Do I get the new headset to work? - Blu-ray Forum

Can someone take me through a step by step process? This is my first time with voice chat and i dont want to screw this up/break it. Right now I dont know what to do and I need some help. How did you hook the new headset that comes with Socom to play with your Playstation. Please tell me everything you did.

Have you done the newest firmware update yet? Because that would be the first step in the process of synching.

If i remeber correctly you just go into the systems settings, than accessory settings, than headset settings ( i'm pretty sure the names of these arn't 100% accurate, but will be close to it) You will than need the sync # that is in the instruction booklet of your headset and than you should be set. I wish i was at home and had the ps3 right infront of me, i'd be a lot easier to help.

To use the new features of the headset(HQ MODE) you have to sync it with the USB cable. Just hook it up with the usb cable to the PS3 and it should sync itself....I think its on Pg 32 of the manual. Iam at work now too, wish a had the manual here...lol

Yes, to the first poster, I do have the newest firmware.

So, how is it. I heard there's "noise cancellation" so will the videogame noise go away and you will just be able to hear the speaker(s). How is the quality. Told you this was my first headset.

Anyway, anyone want to test this with me later today,/tonight. My PSN ID is Netguy. I bought this primarily for my SCIV and LBP gaming sessions. Those games will be so much better with voice. Not to mention every time I used the "Pop It" to speak in LBP Beta the game would freeze. EVERY TIME. Now I'm sure that will be fixed in retail but using voice will be so much faster and easier.

Hook it up to your PS3 with a USB cable and that's pretty much it for pairing.

Anyway, can someone copy and paste the instructions from the manual for the headset (I think someone said it was around pg. 24 or something) as I dont think I want to open the game as I want to return it and just want the headset.

If not casn someone give me a link to where just the instructions are. Thank you for your help.

And WOW, that is a really short cord. Hope that works. My playstation is kida on a desk far away from me. Sony are such cheap bastards.

You don't pick up the charging stand and hold it to your head so it's less messy to have a short USB cable.
