Default Terminator 2 (USA version) vs Terminator 2 (UK version)

Hi,

I read somewhere that the recent release of Terminator 2 in the UK has better PQ and SQ than the USA release.
Does anybody know if this is true, and if it is do you think its worth buying the UK version if its that much better?

Many thanks,
Kelly

I agree. You can get it on Amazon.uk for around $28 shipped.

Yes it is, and yes it will. I have the UK disc and that player, and it works great. Slightly better PQ over the US version, but no commentary. You can get both and throw them in one double Blu-ray case to make a "complete" set.

This is the first title I've considered importing... as long as it's region A and works in the ps3...

How would the UK users rate the AQ/PQ?

i dont have any other verions of T2 on hd to compare it to .. but i thought the picture was 4/5 with the sound maybe 4.5/5

The disc is pretty bare bones though.. you just get the film. I can imagine we'll see a better release with more features down the line though..

but if your just interested in the film the DTS Master Audio rocks....

I don't know which version of the film is on the US release - I believe I read somewhere that it was the theatrical.

It's probably also worth noting that the UK version is the directors cut version of the film - but not the extended cut that came out on the ultimate edition DVD.

This movie will be re-released in a more complete form, likely to conincide with next year's release of Termintor:Salvation (or whatever they end up calling it).

Just watched my import (I'm in USA) and it looked AMAZING and had a run time of 2:33 or 153 min like the extended version. Every scene looked phenomenal, day or night, and the sound was great. Recommended highly even though I have not seen the Lionsgate to compare, I heard that one was so-so...

Damn. I'm missing out on the better T2. I'll wait for the revised US T2 version.

If anyone is considering importing the UK disc, I'd recommend waiting for the Japanese T2 Premium Edition release in December. It'll have both the theatrical and extended cut, and it'll most likely be a new Blu-ray optimized encode.

But will it have the two commentaries, that's what I'd like to know.

And I had no idea that the Optimum and Studio Canal versions were different encodes.
