Default Bookshelf surrounds- Polk Monitor 30 or other?

Kind of a weird topic, but I thought I'd throw it out to the gurus on the forum. I have a Polk Monitor setup (check my sig) and want to upgrade my surrounds (and eventually the sub, though that's a different topic). I have a smallish amount of room for it, and thus Monitor 50 floorstanders are out. They're also pretty close to my head to I fear that the Polk Monitor 40's would be overkill, plus not clear the WAF with their size.

Can you guys suggest a good place to pick up some 30's in BLACK as I can't seem to find a decent deal? Alternatively, can you suggest something comparative to the 30's in look/sound that I could look for? I'd prefer to stick with Polk but I certainly don't HAVE to.

Thanks guys.

You could go for the Monitor 30's for sure. These aren't necessarily "matching," but they are somewhat stylish and cheap.

Ah forgot about those Insignia's already! We were talking about them in another thread.

DBlackGT, those are in cherry and I'm looking for black to match my other speakers and entertainment center. I do definitely appreciate the effort though. Keep 'em coming!

whoops sorry.

I know you said the Monitor 40's migh tbe overkill but you can get them for cheap off ebay from Polk Direct. Like these ones will definitely not reach the buy it now price of $199 and theres only a day left on them so I'd watch them to see how the biding turns out.

Monitor 40's

Otherwise just keep checking ebay everyday, Polk list new speakers everyday. So Im sure some 30's would show up.

Monitor 40's
That's a good call. I'll keep an eye out- even though they might catch me some heat from the wife. Thanks!

I have those also, they are awesome little speakers, and that's a great price.
