Question Where have all the VHS gone?

Simple scientific curiosity, that's all. Multiple choice poll.

I sold a couple, gave some away. Even "recycled" some as movie tapes. Can't bring myself to just trash them.

It's easily been 10 years since I've had any.

Hmmm... well,.. almost. I remember in 1999 I had a monaural VCR and wanted a Stereo VCR to watch rented movies (I don't think I ever owned VHS tapes) but Fry's had a multi-media kit for PC's with a DVD Drive and hardware decoder board so I got that instead. I don't remember ever watching a VHS tape after that day.

--Brian

p.s. Was tempted to get into HDVHS or D-Theater just before HD on Optical disc became available.

I have many old school 80s horror movies on VHS that never made their way to DVD or blu ray.

Kept some that didn't make it to DVD. The rest went to the pawn shop many many years ago.

All are gone. Some given away, sold, or stolen.

I have an old Sony Wega 32 inch CRT(about 10 years old, still a pretty good picture for what it is) in one of the other rooms and it's sitting on a trunk that has all my VHS tapes in it. the TV is so heavy that the tapes will never see the light of day again unless I get rid of the tv

Still have and use a Sony(shocker) VHS VCR in the living room.
It records Robot Chicken for me every Sunday night.

Still works like new(another shocker).
Remote still has the original batteries in it and they work fine.
Movies, yeah!
Have a bunch, newest is Eddie Murphy in Doctor Dolittle.
ALL KINDS of older VHS tapes, store bought and self recorded.

I never owned any..... started buying DVDs in 1997 or early 1998..... Only rented until DVD came out, and when I saw the AMAZING PQ that DVD had (it's still good, but I can't believe how "wowed" I was 10 years ago!) I started buying them.

I've kept in storage all of the classic Disney movies, several versions of Star Wars IV-VI and a copy of Star Trek II autographed by George Takei. The rest were sold at garage sales long ago.
