Sae (Aragaki Yui) and Kohei (Ikuta Toma) first meet when the latter tries to help Sae get to her driving test. However, the ensuing accident during the effort causes Kohei to quit school and work for his fisherman father (Matsushige Yutaka), while Sae loses her chance to study in a prestigious Tokyo university. The two eventually fall in love, but are separated when Sae takes a second opportunity to go to Tokyo. Even though they are committed to a long-distance relationship, Sae's friendship with handsome photographer Junichi (Mukai Osamu) and Kohei's struggle to keep his father's business afloat threaten to drive them apart.
