That video is awesome, I've been betting on this game (against Madden) for a long time now and the more I see the more I like. The vids for Denver and Kansas City are pretty sweet too:

I wonder if they could ever develop a set of fictional football players that are in each game, so that fans of the series have something to follow. Of course, each year they'd add a bunch of new rookies, but if Blitz was able to start it's own ongoing storyline, it would be interesting, like if a star player was traded from one team to another.

Maybe they could run a website during the development cycle ("off season") to keep fans updated on what's going on in the fictional league, until the next game releases.

Don't know why I shared this. I guess that one guy on the Baltimore team made me think of it.

Hmmm, thats weird you mentioned that because I read this IGN article where its in a blog format that described the events that went on since the last game to kind of get you ready for the new one coming up. I never really read it and just looked at the pretty pictures but saw some tidbits about the storyline that I figured I could catch up on right before I pick up the sequel next month.

The only kind of character on there that you could follow from the last game was the notorious Quentin Sands (aka famously known as the legendary Lawrence Taylor). He seemed to be a good enough pull for the first one and now hes pretty much their poster boy for the game, which I think is just perfect.

Its a cool concept you brought up and I hope they do incorporate that into the storyline...

That's simply gross.

I liked the Blitz arcade games but that video makes it a definite no go. Loss of all interest in under a minute.

Yuk.

I hope that it's an option you can turn off.

I thought it was pretty cool, kind of gets you in the Halloween spirit. I'm not sure if theres an option to turn it off, I'll let you know when I'll be sure to address that in my review when it comes out next Monday.

The Blitz franchise really turned itself around when it switched to The League. More brutal, late hits and juicing up are a big part of it. I found it to be a turn to the better seperates it from other football games.

Another trailer featuring late hits (imagine football meets UFC): http://www.gametrailers.com/player/41767.html

The game came out last week, I want to get it asap but haven't got a chance to get it. Did anyone buy or rent this yet?
