Default An Interesting Story...

I was watching the new Journey to the center of the earth movie with my mom, and she noticed the psp the kid was using to access the internet...

She looked at me and she asked me if it had wifi, I said yeah.. she then told me she wanted one...

I found the really surprising.. I actually wanted one for a long time now, I think maybe during this tax rebate check ill buy myself a psp and maybe my mom, im not sure buying a psp for mobile internet is a good reason to buy a psp but maybe im wrong...

She did like the prices on UMD movies though.. we were at frys and they were all priced at 5 bucks.. she looked at me and said at that price she wouldn't feel bad replacing her vhs collection..

-_- This was all very out of character for her.. Im a little hesitant to buy a psp for her, on the premise of it not being used, shes scared of the ps3, and my dad has to show her how to move the xmb over to video.... to play a dvd..

Perhaps thats a showing that she is willing to learn..

Just curious what yall thought...

Oh and its not about the money for those that might think it is.. You can't put a price on family, its more or less its more on the lines of seriousness of the person to want the item...

I do have a fear, my known friends who either purchased psps for the sons or for spouses or equivalences thereof, generally found after awhile it would go unused and just be forgotten....

Ive kept this fear to myself... as its just a observation of other people, and I really never considered our family normal...

My moms about 59 Years old through she will tell others shes 43 but im not going to talk about that, she only pulls that out if a stranger calls her grandma...

That is pretty much the same line of reasoning that got me the PSP that we own. My wife is into Tiger Woods Golf and I told her that the game is available on the PSP, so she wanted to take the game on a road trip and commissioned me to find the console and game for her. Since then she's bought maybe 2 or 3 games for it and I've bought over a dozen.

My wife loves Tiger Woods golf also. When I bought my PS3 I bought that at the same time and it turned the anger into excitement...she's further along in the game than I am... by a long shot

i dont have an interesting story... i mean i've gone through like 6 psp's (last one was stolen ) but if she uses the psp for movies, she'd learn how to use a ps3 EASY. reason being, psp uses the XMB just like its bigger bro. if it doesnt stick with her, at least it'll make her comfortable with the ps3. and in the end if she doesnt use it you can always play resistance on the little system =)

Might want to start with one. Perhaps buy your own and let your mom play with it herself a little to see if she really likes it. The wifi isn't terribly fast and sometimes annoying to navigate since there is no keyboard. Also, some pages don't load properly, (I MSN is a mess for me, for example). She may not end up finding it quite as useful as she hopes. That's just my thought/suggestion though. If she goes on a lot of trips she could find UMD movies nice in the car.

I realize if there is only one, one of us will never see it again. She likes to just play around on the internet... I would probably buy a wireless router then so that all the psps could commnicate...

I know I would be playing both star ocean games non stop and never be heard from again...

Just a thought....but check out an iPod Touch before making your decision. The new iPod is one fantastic WiFi enabled gadget.
