I get this new system home put away my old PS2 only to find out that this system isn't backwards compatible??? Now I have to unpack my PS2 again WTF!!

not to be a dick bag. but this is discussed LITERALLY to DEATH on the internet... even on this very message board.

NONE of them were OR are 100% BC except the discontinued 60gb.

If you need the BC real bad, recently Amazon still had the 80Gb MGS4 packs ($499). -THAT- 80Gb model is Backward compatible (soft).

No I don't need one just didn't do my homework fully I did Google PS3 problems but just scanned the pages. I was just surprised and mad at first about finding out first hand the hard way...is it a software thing or something missing completely from them?

i have the MGS4 bundle, i haven't found a PS2 game i can't play on it... Gran Turismo 4 runs a bit funny between races and menus. it looks like it wants to trip out, but i think it has to do w/ changing resolutions.

i gave my PS2 to my little sister, because PS2s are for little girls now. lol. JK, my PS2 would kick my ass if it read this comment for all its done for me.
