As you can see from the specs the movie is ecoded in 1080i.

The only way for this to play at 1080p is to have the video upscaled by either a reciever or video processor.

They should recall this one....

Instead it just sits around usually around $10.

I find it enjoy-able.

looks better than some of Warner's 1080p discs, besides it says so right on the packaging.

They shouldn't recall it. It is fine. It might not be 1080p, but it is still excellent quality.
For the movie, it is exceptionally good. And it is the cheapest Blu-ray I've seen, I got my copy for close to $5.
A lot of receivers can decode interlaced to progressive, but even there I didn't find anything serious distracting me during the movie.
Buy it if you like it, get it cheap, enjoy it!

Some my Pirates 3 that says 1080i is in fact a 1080p?

Did not know that.

The first batch of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 had a misprint on the back that said the movie was in 1080i. It is in fact 1080p, and has always been 1080p. All new copies of the movie fixed that misprint so if you have one, it is more valuable in the long run since it has that misprint.

yeah its a shame they didn't go for a 1080p encode. I wonder why not, and if there are any other feature film examples that are only in 1080i. It still looks great though.
