Default Best Buy

I was thinking about getting a part time job to help out with money and was thinking Best Buy would be a good choice since it's right next to my career job and my apartment. I was curious if anyone works there on this forum and what their dicount on blu's are? Do you get a good deal on them?

i worked there for 6 years and you are better off to buy movies the week they come out if u want a deal. bigger things like tv's & electronics it's pretty descent though. get a job in the warehouse, you don't have to deal w/people then.

I had considered doing some time there to refit my kitchen with a new refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Unfortunately I had to replace my washer/dryer before I had time to do this.

Worst job I ever had. Don't get a job there for the discounts. You get about $1 off of DVD's (if you're lucky).

Agreed. This thread belongs in the off-topic forum. Anyway, stay away from working retail. After 8 years of it, I'd rather be unemployed them going back to that industry.

I worked at Best Buy for 3 years. Great if you can spend money on the discounted items(TV's, Speakers, Cables, etc.). DVD's, gaming systems, music, all have little to no discount.

when they are not on sale, like $5 at max...

It best to buy them when they go on sale the first week usually cause that's the best price.

Anywhere you work you will not get a good discount on dvd's/blu-rays cause they are not marked up that much..

Considering the timing...xmas coming as well, I'd avoid BB. The madhouse that is the xmas season there has to be horrible. Won't be going back this year for Black Friday either after the last couple years of mass pandemonium...

I would work there and buy as much cabling as you can. The new hdmi geek rocketfish cable retails for like 90 and employee price is 9 dollars for the 12footer

www.monoprice.com buying an overpriced HDMI cable is pretty pointless when a $4 cable works excactly the same.

Actually it's even less than that, it's more like $5... isn't that sickening.

The build quality on those is pretty disappointing. I'd stick with Monoprice.
