Exclamation Rebate Question

I'm filling out the rebate forms that came with my PS3. Do I have to cut the package to get the UPC? Or can I just make a copy of it?

I cut the packaging due to the fact that I have been having a horrible time getting any rebates lately.

Complanies are getting VERY stingy and I believe lying to consumers. Just can't fully prove it at this time.

If you go with the original and photo copy the packaging prior to cutting it, you should be safe.

Yeah but who wants to cut up their packaging. I take pride in my collection and even the slightest scratch on a disc upsets me.

You unfortunately do have to cut the insert to get the barcode.

To keep the damage to a minimum, open the shell and keep opening it until the cellophane fans out and the insert can be easily removed.

are people sending multiple rebates in one envelope, or one rebate per envelope?

I am separating them myself but that is me. I can live with multiple stamp costs.

As I have said...I have been getting screwed in rebates as of late...last year I was denying $300...and so far this year $150. I use to love them...but I think the companies are becoming jerks and losing my business constantly.

Default MY SOLUTION: eBAY!

Guys, forget the rebates. I bid on Blu-ray DVDs on eBay and get it for $10 less than the MSRP - no rebate forms required! I just got Superman Returns on Blu-ray for only $21.74, BRAND-NEW & FACTORY SEALED! If I bought it in stores I would have paid (w/ NJ tax) $32.09.

I haven't sent in more than 1 in an envelope yet but I will. I've got 2 discs that I bought on the same receipt and they ask for the original receipt so I'll send them in together in the same envelope. Shouldn't be a problem.

I was thinking about doing the rebates but for one, I mostly have multiple movies on one receipt. And secondly, like Ken T said, I don't want to cut up the packaging. Damn my anal retentiveness!
