Default Has A Movie Disgusted You Enough For You To Turn It Off?

I have but one. "Seed", anybody who has seen the opening footage will know what I'm talking about. Should have known when the PETA warning flashed up. That's all I saw of it, turned it straight off, and refuse to ever watch the pile of crap again. I'm a horror fan from way back, but if I want to see things like that, I'll go to a vet and watch them put animals to sleep.

The one movie that "bothered" me as such, and I know it's a classic, but don't think I could watch it again, is "The Shining". It really got under my skin for some reason

Anybody else?

I rarely walk away from a movie, but 28 Days Later did it for me. What a bore! My buddy was like...you gotta see this if you are Horror fan. Turned it off and ejected the disc 30 minutes in.

The Hills Have Eyes remake really bothered me. I don't particularly mind gore at all. I can watch some pretty gory stuff and not get sickened at all (hellllo Texas Chainsaw!), but rape scenes really bother me and get under my skin and that one scene in this movie bothered me enough where I felt like I needed to stop watching because it was downright sickening the way it was done. Just my opinion.

+1. i rarely get bothered and this bothered me. i dont know why someone felt it was good storytelling to
[Show spoiler] shoot a mother, blow the head off the sister in front of her kid and husband, and steal a baby
. jeez how horror cinema has fallen.

oh and hostel. didn't turn it off but it definitely bothered me that there is a fan base for that sort of stuff. enough to warrant a 2nd at least.

Exactly. It was the rape along with the other violence of the scene combined that really just bothered me deeply that stripped any enjoyment I could have had. Perhaps that was the intention on behalf of the filmmakers, but I much prefer my horror to be moreso enjoyable (even gory scenes can be quite fun to watch) rather than absolutely sickening.

And Hostel didn't really bother me in the sense that it was gory, but I was offended at just how horrible the movie was. I thought it sucked as a film. If I wasn't watching it with a friend who wanted me to see it, I definitely would have cut it off. I didn't want to be rude, though.

I never did see Hostel 2.

I agree. I can't believe the Christian community embraced this film so. I thought it was sick and couldn't imagine that being beaten and crucified would have been Christ's 'Passion."

Hmmm? The Shining is my all time favorite horror movie, can't imagine what it could have been to bother you so. I have friends who think it's incredibly boring and they think I'm crazy for saying it scares me.

I saw it in Tennessee surrounded by my church-going friends. While the whole theatre was bawling their eyes out, I was thinking "That's not how it would have happened!"

When it was over, and my friends asked what I thought (I've never shared my religious views with them - for or against) I replied that it wasn't realistic enough... Judas' rope was too short and when he hung himself, the branch was too small and would have snapped. Not only that but the short rope would have strangled him and his feet would be kicking wildly - the movie showed his shadow go instantly limp - that only happens when the rope is long enough to get enough speed to break the neck upon reaching "the end of your rope".

My friends were stunned.

I argued that the grotesque scenes of violence and mutilation were not accurate according to what had been written about it and that Mel Gibson exaggerated things too much.

When all the boo-hooers asked "well, didn't it make you sad?", I said "No, it's just a movie... and an exaggeration at that. It's not like I just saw a live person get killed. The actor that played Jesus got off his cross, went back to his trailer and had a latte".

I think that kind of creeped a few of them out. (Of course, I was laughing on the inside )

my dad went and saw men in black and the sixth sense when they came out... he walked out of both after about 20 minutes guess it wasnt his thing... myself i cracked up laughing on men in black it was funny.
then again my dad could watch a movie and 2 months later not be able to tell you what it was about... movies to him were there to kill time only.

Can't exactly put my finger on it, why it bothered me. Maybe "bother" is the wrong word, it certainly got under my skin. I remember when we were watching it, the dead woman in the tub, my brain was going, "this is going to screw with us for a bit" lol. Probably did what you want any "horror" movie to do, strike a chord. Was just the whole feel ot it. Maybe "creeped out" is a better term, although I agree it's a classic, don't see me watching it again anytime soon.

World Trade Center, I was not disgusted with the film, but I just couldn't finish watching it, It just bothered me too much. I bought the BD as a blind buy, and found the movie quite disturbing, (but I think that was the point)

The closest thing is probably Saving Grace. Sex can be in a tv show but the way they have it feels tacky and cheap...

Don't recall any movies offhand that I have been disgusted with enough to turn off. Don't know if there have been any. But there have been movies I just really disliked and overall couldn't stand watching another minute of. The first Harry Potter movie was one of those for me. I watched a half hour and shut it off. Have never seen another minute of that or subsequent movies.
