Default DVD Upgrade on Blu Ray players (?)

I was just wondering, how good do DVDs generally look on Blu Ray players? Is there a significant upgrade?

I am on the verge of buying my first BR player and was just thinking whether my current DVD collection would benefit much from me doing so.

Is there any DVD Upgrade vs Blu Ray screen shots available anywhere which show the differences?

I just got my first blu ray player (Sony BDP-S350) and I couldn't be happier with the way it upscales my DVDs. I have a large DVD collection and budget dictates that I upgrade slowly. I had a Samsung upconverting DVD player previously and it can't even come close to comparing to the upscaling capability of my blu ray player. I'm very happy with my decision, because now my DVDs look much better and I can enjoy blu ray releases through Netflix and any that I choose to buy!

Kieran,

BD players only upscale DVD's via HDMI. If your using component cables, it does not upscale. In my case I keep a hacked Zenith DVB-318 dvd player around for my DVD's.
