I believe my 60gb PS3 bricked! - Blu-ray Forum

I was playing Mercs 2 when it froze and then my PS3 completely cut off to the red light. Now when I try to cut it on, the green light will cut on for a second, then go to yellow and then to flashing red. Then I tried to cut it off and then on from the back again, but when I tap the front power, it does the same thing. Now I cant get the game out either. What do you think? Is there anything I can try?

Sorry man but as far as I know, there is nothing you can do but send it back to sony. The blinking lights mean is done. Look around with the search engine, everyone who had this happen to them had to send it back because their ps3 was dead

I got it at about a year and 7 months ago - will they replace it at that age?

Did u get the extended warranty? If not you have to pay 150$ I believe because the sony warranty runs out after 1 year

The place you bought it.... Or if your credit card extends manufacturers warranties, but that's not quite the same.

you could try that hard reset or whatever someone found, that was exposed in the last patch??

not sure, i cant remember what it required to begin

So if you PS3 dies after warranty Sony will fix it for $150, sounds like a deal to me.

They actually send you a new 1 for $150.00, they dont sell the 60gb anymore but they have plenty just for that reason. It happened to mine few months ago, although in my case it was just blu-ray drive

My wife told me this happened when I was out of town ... same thing ... I got home, before I turned it on, I pulled the power plug out ... then put it back in ... has been working ever since ... sounds like a long shot, but try it ... I actually read of a guy doing that here so I tried it ... he said it has to sit for a day or so (dont know how much that matters) but since it hadnt been used for a few days since I was out of town who knows... but it worked.

wow dude sorry to hear that... EXACT same thing happend to me... yellow than red flashing light

.... call sony asap so you can get the ball rolling... there gonna send u a box, u ship them ur ps3... their going to replace it with a refurbished model.. i called sony 10/10.. got my ps3 delivered yesterday 10/24... so about 2 weeks with no ps3... not bad because they told me 3 weeks... its gonna cost about $162 with tax... what sucks is that it only comes with a 90-day warrenty and nothing after that... Im just glad i got my ps3 back before Resistance 2 comes out

When I sent my ps3 back because of bad blu-ray drive, I went to Best Buy and purchased a ps3 and returned it when I recieved mine back from sony.
