nubie here bonus video? - Blu-ray Forum

i tried to watch the hulk bd and it would not play worth a sh** well found out i had to update firmware and did so. now while playing the disc in the upper left part of the screen it shows a little box that says bonus video and i can't get it to go away? so im just trying to figure out if its just me or the way the movie is? i find this very annoying and probably won't even watch the movie because of this but i have not seen this on any other bd's yet. any body know anything about this?

lol I don't even know where to start.

No you don't have to watch the movie with the PIP. It IS part of the U-Control feature.

Which player do you have?? I have te Samsung BDP-1500 and had the same problem and watched a movie all the way through and was very annoyed! After posting on here like you did, I got some good replies and ending up figuring it out. When the movie starts and the bonus view icon appears, hit the info button on your remote and a menu of options will pop up on the left side of the screen, check the menu and make sure bonus view is off, then hit the cancel button on remote and it should go away. Works for me every time.

i had the u-control turned off and in the menu i made sure the pip was turned off, so i don't know if it was the movie, or if the firmware update did something to cause this. i turned on u-control and that showed up in the lower right hand corner of the screen, but the movie showed a box in the top left corner and not real small either the said bonus video and no matter how many chapters i advanced it was still on there through the movie so i sent it back to netflix and didn't watch it. i don't need something like that burning in my screen.

Turn U-Control on and back off. Should go away. There are a few players displaying some anomalies with U-Control for some reason.

i must have one then i turned ucontrol on and off and stayed there.

So I just found this forum searching for my problem and thanks for solving my issue.

1. Purchased Samsung BD-2550 from BestBuy
2. Purchased the Incredible Hulk (among other titles)
3. When watching the Incredible Hulk, this "BonusView" or "Bonus View" box showed up in the upper left hand corner of the screen and would not go away.

-- Press INFO on the remote (On the Samsung remote, the "INFO" button is below your 4-directional buttons that go in a circle, second to the left)
-- Press CANCEL on the remote (On the Samsung remote, below the number 7)

GONE!
