I liked it but I've heard of an extended version to be released so will wait a while.

No it's just going to be "Bad Grandpa 1.5" that's only going to be footage that they never put in the movie. It's what they usually did for the Jackass movies

Just came back from it, and I give it my seal of approval:

It started out a little worrisome, but then the first real prank started and I was hooked. There are some excellent gags and pranks, and it's interesting that they make a narrative to string the pranks together. A loose narrative, yes, but also surprisingly effective.

There were only maybe one or two misfires I can think of, and I think both had to do with potty humor, my pinnacle of disdain on the humor spectrum. There was one joke in that area that did work, though, and it made up for the other ones being unfunny as all hell.

If you like Jackass, you should like this. If you like Irving Zisman, you should like this. If you think the Jackass films and crew are immature jerks that should never have gotten famous, this movie will probably not change your mind.

Not as good as I was expecting, but I hope the Blu will be unrated and include a bunch of deleted scenes. And commentary, I'm still kinda disappointed the third one has no commentary.

There were unrated/extended versions of all three Jackass movies. Jackass 2.5 and 3.5 were made up of bits that didn't make their respective films, but each of those films still had an unrated/extended version (and had deleted scenes).

I wouldn't be surprised if another release with footage from this film gets released further down the road, but here's to hoping will see some decent deleted scenes.

Yeah but they'll include it in the release day blu rays. They're not going to make a 2nd release just to add an unrated/extended edition.

Saw it today, I really liked it. After seeing the trailer, I was really curious how the "Irving Zisman" character could work for an entire feature. Being that the original bits with Knoxville in make up didn't quite work for me. But I was pleasantly surprised. Go see this with a large audience opening weekend. There are some really great reactions to Irving being "Irving". Jackass Number 2 (for me) is still the best.

It would be nice to get the first two Jackasses on Blu-Ray and a Blu-Ray 3D version of the third, but I don't know what kind of quality they would be, I guess. Still, I agree with mcfddj74, the second one is the best.

I think the person you were talking to at first about the 1.5 thing was implying that they'll wait for it to come out on home release, so that they don't have to watch it more than once to get all the unrated materials. If they watch it today, in theaters, they'll see it once, but when the Blu-ray comes out, they will have to watch it again?

...or something?

I have no idea what I'm even talking about.

Ugh... I think Jackass is a movie series I will welcome staying on DVD. How on Earth could they make the first two films look nice enough to warrant a purchase?

I agree there needs to be a Blu-ray 3D for Jackass the Third, though. That is long overdue, especially from Mr. 3D Home Release, himself, Paramount

Even Vudu shows a preorder for an unrated and rated version, so I'll need to wait to see how this shakes out before committing to this particular release.

jackass number two and jackass 3D both arrived on home video in "Unrated" form, and jackass: the movie was given an "Unrated" cut later. I would be surprised if the Blu-Ray isn't Unrated.

Default BAD GRANDPA (2013) January 28, 2014 preorder

The unrated version of the movie is for sale on Vudu now, and it includes a 19 minute behind-the-scenes feature. The running time is 103 minutes, and it is UV-enabled.

I hope we see the unrated cut on Blu-ray, and not just as a streaming purchase.

Saw this last night in HD. Had me rolling in hysterical laughter all the way through. Very funny movie. Knoxville proves he can be a pretty good actor.
