I’m watching Phantom Thread now and I’ve watched the dress fitting scene about 5 times in a row now thanks to ASMR. It’s like I’m in a freaking trance. Happens every time! It got me wondering what scenes have a similar effect on other folks.

By the way I figure I don’t need to explain what ASMR is, right? If you experience it you know what it is and if you don’t it’s easy to look it up.

ASMR is also very often referred to as chills or a frisson. I get it in a lot of movies, usually with music, something that replaces crying (because I don't cry easily), or a big twist, usually involving someone being the bad guy/just something bad that happened.

The first time I honestly remember having it was when watching "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery". It was the bath scene between Austin and Alotta Fagina.

The other time I remember it happening was the moment in "Fellowship of the Ring" where Galadriel gets the pitcher of water.

Haha, yeah! That scene is the same for me. Another scene from The Princess Bride that gets me is when Miracle Max makes the death antidote pill.

I’ve been following Gentle Whispering for years. Her earlier work is especially tingly when she’s not reliant on all these different objects lol.

Also, for some reason, several German steelbook unboxing videos are like ASMR to me.
