How many steelbooks are region free? I was wondering if there are some that I could grab that arent in the small list of US/Canada.

I think I will order some of the ones from Canada and the US but I just can't bring myself to order some of the German ones. If only they would be English on the back

I thought they was as I looked for the info there in the first place.

Damn shame.

When will they remove the damn region locking.

Maybe it would be wise to buy 2 BD players. One for Region 1 and one for Region 2.

That's Region A and Region B. Region 1 and 2 are for DVDs.

Region coding is not going to go away. That's one of the promises that BDA made to the studios to get them to support Blu-ray over HD DVD. The region was simplified compared to DVD, and importantly added Japan (Region 2), Korea and Hong Kong (Region 3) to Region A (Americas). Unfortunately most of Europe went from Region 2 to Region B, so I still need to rely on my HTPC with AnyDVD to play these other region discs. Hopefully once Blu-ray becomes little more main stream, there will be more region-free solutions.
