Default New This Week: 03/20/2007 Edition

After my sarcastic comments about what a "big" title constitutes last week, this week we'll just cut to the chase and go right for the gusto by asking what you'll be adding to your library this week?

All I know is that my kids are quite enjoying Blu-ray with the numerous kids CG movies that have come out for it. Far more family friendly than DVD ever was in its first year...

Rocky Balboa for me, eventually.

I'll have to rent Eragon first, but I dont hear good things, so I'm not expecting much.

Default buying some blu

I haven't seen either Eragon or Rocky Balboa, but have heard good things and I only want to buy new releases on BD as much as possible (have become addicted to the format). Although, I must admit I'm a little concerned about seeing Sly's muscle turn to flab right before my eyes on the new 62" 1080p Toshiba I got with the tax refund!

Big Fish is on of my favorites, and my DVD copy's case got mutilated in an attempt to get the sticky seals off of it so I am most definitely buying the BD version especially after reading the positive reviews.

Rocky Balboa is one I passed on in the theaters because I just laughed it off initially, but I've been reading and hearing nothing but good things about the film, and I have a feeling Sony's gonna knock this one out of the park PQ-wise.

Big Fish is on the way, and I'll probably get Finding Neverland as well.
Rocky Balboa I saw at the theaters, and I don't feel the need to see it again anytime soon...

A good part of that, undoubtedly, is that we have Disney from the start this time. No DIVX/HD DVD suituation. And that Fox and Sony have since gotten into the animation game with it being transformed by CGI. We'll even get a Lionsgate release soon (Happily Never After).

Interestingly, except for Paramount's distribution of Dreamworks as a possibility, HD DVD only has studios that don't do much animation (a real shame considering WB's Looney Tunes history).

Rocky Balboa and Finding Neverland for sure. I may also pick up Eragon later, but am planning to rent it first. I'm also undecided on Big Fish but might get that one as an impulse buy.

I have to pass this week. Nothing here really interests me. It's a good thing 4 of the 5 titles I ordered from Amazon during their 50% sale finally decided to show up here yesterday.
