Do you consider this a good or a bad thing that he'll continue to direct the Spider-man movies?

If he is 100% dedicated to making a quality film(s) then it will be a good thing.

i like it... a new director could totally change the tone and feel of the movie making it not fit with the rest of the series.

How is that a bad thing? SpiderMan 3 sucked monkey balls. I don't want another one like that. But the first two were good. I was cracking up in the theater when Peter Parker went all Goth on us. I couldn't tell if they were trying to be funny or the sucked up a serious part of the movie.
