Default X-Men Movie With No Sound

I bought the X-Men movie and I can't get any sound when I watch it at regular speed. If I speed it up to 1.5x it will play sound with the movie, granted its faster, but it still plays sound. If I change to the other languages, movie commentaries, or other extras I get sound just fine.

I've never seen anything like this before. I took the movie back and replaced it thinking that maybe it was just a bad disk, but the new one I have is doing the exact same thing. Does anybody have a clue what the deal is???

X-men is a 6.1 DTS HD MA sound disc. It's probably that, the other languages are in regular dolby digital. Just to be sure it's not only that particular title, do you have any other of Fox's DTS HD MA discs that play ok?

From your 1.5x speed comment I gather you may have a PS3? Go to your BD/DVD settings, and check/change your BD/DVD audio output format settings there to see if that works. Your current settings may not be suitable for playback of the DTS HD MA track with your audio system..

I got it to work. I had to change the optical audio output from bitstream to linear. That had to have been the worst case of troubleshooting I've ever done. I'm really disappointed with myself.

For the guy that asked what receiver I have, I have a Sony STR-DE915. I've had it since 98' or 99' so it's slightly older. And yes I'm using a PS3.

There isn't a Dolby audio track on X3. Well technically there is but it's for other languages.
