The PS3 is not a game console for me. (I have 2 games one 720 and one 1080 to try that out). It's my Portable 35mm Projector.

PS3's failure as a game console, however, would have more serious ramifications, as it could reverse recent gains as people start to favor XBOX or Nintendo consoles over the PS3 console.
What the heck? Isn't that the effect resulting in the cause?

'If the PS/3 stops selling, this could mean consumers will start favouring 360 or Wii over the PS/3'

Sony likely hopes that Blu-Ray's turnaround might help to pull PS3 sales figures upwards.
The PS/3 is the REASON for Blu-ray's turn around. Again, cause and effect reversal.

Seems he's also arguing that the PS/3 is Blu-ray's boat anchor BECAUSE the Blu-ray is the PS/3's boat anchor.

That's three logic mistakes right there.

What kind of company hires such a poor logician?

Oh!

That is a perfect analysis. The author has no understanding of basic logic. An effect can not be the cause. It's a paradox.

Or at the very least, someone who may as well be working for MS, since the end results are the same anyways.

The article in that link was so flawed I can't even waste my time picking it apart.

He's not only working for Microsoft, he works in the anti-discs group, pushing IPTV.

He's working for the very division we talk about when we say Microsoft doesn't give a damn about HD DVD.

Will Microsoft at some point make it possible to burn a permanent copy of an HD movie downloaded through XBOX Live?

And how would you go about doing that? Add another $400 dollar attachment to the Xbox to burn HD-DUD's? Or better yet, copy them to your hard drive, and what, 8 movies and that 120 gig HD is full.

How big are the Xbox Live movies? They could fit on a DVD+R DL, couldn't they?
