Got an import from them yesterday, is it normal for them to come without the tape that goes on the top and over the part where the case opens?

It depends on the studio releasing it in the U.K. Some distributors do not use security stickers on their sealed media items in the U.K.

I don't think I've ever got a disc with the tape on it.

Some don't even come in plastic wrap.

Also, my Batman Returns came in what looked like a shotty plastic wrap job.. all crinkly and thick whereas the Batman one came in a regular nice wrap. Weird.

Yeah, another European also told me the UK don't tape their movies shut, just surprised that's all. Thought my Transformers import was used at first but there's not so much as a mark on it.
