Resistance 2 - Spoilers - Story talk - Blu-ray Forum

Alright here is the disclaimer, all post within this thread may contain spoilers for those who have not played Resistance 1 or Resistance 2. Do not read any further if you do not want to know storylines in Resistance 2.

The purpose of this thread is to talk about the storyline, and cliffhanger for Resistance 3.

I for one who liked the storyline from R1, was disappointed with R2's storyline. For one the black ops guys that take Nathan Hale away at end of Resistance 1 we find out are very much like Nathan Hale making him less unique. The whole, there are many who have been infected but have not turned storyline is kinda disappointing to me.. but it allows them to add more multiplayer campaign so I guess that is good.

My questions to you for those who have beat Resistance 2, what do you think of the ending? You could see it coming throughout this game what was going to happen and they spent most of the game setting up the ending, even having gabriel telling nathan he will be betrayed by those he fights for.

Anyone who thinks Nathan Hale is dead must be very closed minded although. For me I got to believe this is all a setup for Nathan Hale to take his place as the new head bad guy in Resistance 3, which for me I would just dislike as much as the change in storylines for this sequel. It will be interesting to see if that is how they play it or if they will allow us to play as chimerian Nathan as either good or bad guy.. showing his powers at the end i somewhat impressive.

Anyone know where all these Chimerian ships came from either? The whole storyline that the Chimera where found on this Earth and the scientist tried to meld it's DNA with man which created the infestion we are now dealing with, is also disappointing.. I would rather they just be aliens colonizing earth and converting us into them.

I don't know, I really enjoyed the story (although I dont feel that there even WAS much of a story.. which is fine, whatever). I, too, don't think it is possible for Nathan to be dead but I am excited to see what they do with him in R3.
I don't know if I understand how you can say the story was so bad but it left you in a state of wanting to know more!!!

The thing is, Resistance is first and foremost an FPS... let it be an FPS. I had a lot of fun with the game despite it's obvious lack of large, epic story lines.
