Default Best Buy TDK Credit

Hey people. So I was in Best Buy yesterday shopping for some BDs and near their amazing blu-ray display, they had an advertisement that said take the postcards to a cashier and get a $5 credit towards your TDK copy (well you have to pay 5 bucks) and this will guarantee a saved TDK copy for you on December 9th. I'm guessing they are really expecting huge numbers for this one...who isn't?

It's like a pre-order kinda...like you pay 5 bucks towards the film now...and that also secures the blu-ray for you in a month when it's released.

I did the 5 bucks...but do you guys think that it's going to be sold out just like that on day 1 that you need to secure your copy? I mean it is a VERY BIG title to be released, but I'm not sure if it'll be sold out first day...but I might be wrong.

If you're into exclusives then check around for all the various exclusives that will be out there for this title before you commit to the preorder. Best Buy, Target, Circuit City, Suncoast, Costco will likely all have some kind of deals going on for TDK.

I agree it will be a hot item but I think with a million copies floating around you will get one.

I doubt it will sell out, they plan for these things, sometimes to the extreme. If BB runs out there are always more stores and the internetz

I pre-ordered mine from FamilyVideo.

Paid $24.99
shipping 1.99
$5.00 discount because of the Journey to the Center of the Earth fiasco

Total cost shipped ended up being $21.98

Not bad for high profile Blu coming

According to sources, Warner Home Video will ship more than 1 Million copies of the upcoming Blu-ray release of 'The Dark Knight' to retailers, which represents the largest initial shipment of any Blu-ray title, ever. There has been a great deal of anticipation for the title, which is on schedule to be released on December 9th, and Warner appears to be share the same sentiments.

The current best selling title is Paramount's 'Iron Man', which sold around a half million copies its first week. Data regarding total sales so far and number of units shipped have yet to be revealed by the studio.

They are shipping 1,000,000 BD units for TDK, but I have a feeling that it won't be enough.

If anyone lives near a MovieStop you can trade any 4 dvds in and get half off the blu ray price I ended up paying like 9.96 for the new Hulk movie.

I have about 700 DVD's and I wouldn't want to trade them. Now that the economy has been destroyed along with my retirement all I will have are the DVD's to keep me entertained in the near future.

I doubt there will be shortages of the TDK Blu-ray. Warner knows this is gonna be the biggest release yet, so they're ordering a massive day one release. C'mon, anyone read the news article here?

I work for Best Buy, and found out today that my store is getting over 700 copies of the blu-ray, with the largest stores getting over 1,000 (some small stores are getting around 500 though). The limited edition BDs like the one with the bat-pod will be VERY limited, i'm talking like 10 each.

We're also doing a midnight release for the game - high expectations indeed...

Does the 5 bucks work towards the one with the batpod also? I am thinking of going pretty early, like 8:30 ish
