its funny how the 360 guys were claiming victory in japan with only 2-3k more 360s than PS3s. If the 360 was hitting almost 30k more like the PS3 this week, then that would be a victory.

Doesnt this basically wipe out all those weeks where the xbox led? I mean they were winning by 2-3k units at a time, and this would single-handedly counter that.

So, what are the US numbers? Honestly, I couldn't really care less about how the console war is going in Japan.

Only care about the "centre of the Universe" huh?

Why would you expect US numbers when it clearly only says Japan in the thread title?

I think he means that Sony...along with Nintendo dominate Japan anyways...

the US is focused more on the 360 and if the PS3 does better in the US, then that is a true victory....

Is it possible that a lot of LBP copies were sold in the DUALSHOCK 3 bundle and some more 80GB PS3 bundles and hardware bundles aren't counted in game sales?

Agreed, but thats not the point. Why bother entering a thread you have no interest in, and then acting like no one should care about it anyways?

Eghh ill cut the guy some slack. I do agree that NA is the biggest battleground. Hopefully LBP,R2, VC, Motorstorm and all the other recent exclusives boost sales.

I cant wait to see the Japanese numbers for December/January though. THose will be huge.

As far as I know, LBP sold 21k standalone copies first day with about 7k DS3 bundles.

The weekly numbers for LBP don't include the PS3 hardware numbers. Not sure about the DS3 bundles though.

well, not surprised
don't they have some kind of bundles released?
everytime there is a bundle being released, the previous weeks would have fewer sales

Enterbrain numbers do include special bundle figures, Media-Create, NPD and GfK do not.

it's not so much about where the biggest battleground is, because the Asain market as a whole is like their own battleground as well...and Sony/Nintendo both own that market...

for whatever reason, people in NA seem to think the 360 is head and shoulders above everything else (at least until recently)...but I will agree that this is where the PS2 won last gen's war...

and not that I even care about this BS war about which system is better, I'm just noting which victory would be more impressive...

As I understand it, the Japanese PS3 was having a new model debut on November 1, so ppl in Japan were holding off. Now that's over.
