Germany A few German SteelBook™ pics

Hi guys!

I just went to Germany to pick up some supplies (beer, soda, vodka hehe) and ran into a few steelbooks/metalpacks I havent seen before, and for a decent price .. Took some pics with my phone so dunno how good they are..

Btw - I dont know if this has been posted before, but didnt know what to search for ... Sorry if it has

Really wanted that Orphanage SB, but no, no! As always the germans chose NOT to include any subtitles but German

Not really a nice price if you ask me
The metalpaks allways cost 15€ in Germany and all movies published are shit.
The Steelbook ist expensive, you can get it for 22-25€ easily.

Thumbs up

Cool! I only know 'Hero' and 'Orphanage'. I've never heard of any of the other movies! Unless they were renamed for the German market.

It's not that Hero with Jet Li and Zhang Ziyi! They are trying to fool people by renaming My Father Is A Hero (Gei ba ba de xin) into Jet Li Is The Hero. Avoid this one, it's a crappy B movie.

Guys

New to Steelbook. What is the difference between a metalpak and a SB? I can't really tell the difference from the photos posted on post #1?

I am going to buy an used SB copies of Canadian FutureShop TDK and German version of Hancock as my first SB additions to my blu-ray collection. Are these two release steelbook or metalpaks?

This thread explains the difference pretty simply: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=70477.

I am quite interested in this movie. Is this definitely a steelbook coz the amazon product page doesn't say anything about it being a steelbook? I even sent them an email and I got this back:

We aim to provide informative content where possible for all titles in our extensive catalogue. Unfortunately, in this case we do not have any further information about the title "Das Waisenhaus [Blu-ray]" other than what you see on our website.

For more details we recommend that you go to the homepage of the manufacturer. You will find their name on the product information page on our website.

If you decide to purchase the item from us without getting any further information and are unhappy once you have received it, you can return it to us and get a refund in accordance with our Returns Guarantee:

Talk about a lazy response. Another thing, if I order it and it turns out not to be a steelbook, I can't really send it back and ask me to refund my return shipping costs? Can anyone advise if there is only one release of this movie in Germany and that there is no amaray release?

Also there is no mention of English audio or subtitle in the product info page?

I dont believe there is an english dub for this film. I'm kind of against dubs anyhow, never been a fan.

Sorry to be pedantic, I assume the copy you received is a steelbook? Just want to make sure there is no amaray version in Germany... coz i remembered reading another thread either here or on another forum that the German version of Mist (Limited Edition) is now shipped in a normal amaray case, it used to be a steelbook?
