Default hissing sound coming from the back of my lcd

if i put my ear next to the top back of my tv i hear a hissing sound..kind of like when a tire is loosing air...is this normal?...i noticed this about 2-3 days ago

Ummm...nope thats not normal...its should be hissing or calling you by your name or anything like that.
You might want to get it check out before it becomes a major problem

I have a issue kinda like the OP also. Dont mean to highjack but since we are on this topic my plasma has a faint buzzing sound you can hear when you put your head real close in the back of it. Is been doing that since I got it almsot 1yr is go is that normal?

yeah i have mines for little over a year now,i read somewhere that this just might be the power supply working or something like that...i just want to know if its serious or not

Well, if it were a plasma, I'd say that maybe the gas is leaking out of the cells, but that couldn't be the case with LCD...

my Sony has a cooling fan in it maybe yours has one also...

The best way to solve that is not to put your head real close to the back of it!!! If you can't hear it from your seat, who cares. Plasma's energy use generates heat, and gets fans going. that is the likely cause of the noise.

check for snakes on lcd

Sound like something to do with powersupply that possible makes noises. I have the same with my Panasonic pj.

Possible answer for you?:

Google some and there are plenty with similar issues.
Call samsung and sort it out if this is something to worry about or not. Also standing in front of your tv may help :P

nahh it's not audible from my seat or anywhere in the room unless i put my ear next to it,i guess it's not a big deal but i'd rather be safe than sorry ya know

Sony has same sound but its the cooling fans that are running. check your manual.
