Default Which Onkyo Would Benefit Me More - 805 or 806?

I have read the other threads here and leaning towards the 806. Mainly for the "future proof" factor. Cost is not bad either.

Here is my background - I am partially deaf in my left ear, about 50% or more gone. Right ear is 10% gone. So, sound to me is important but also I am a realist. Some things I will never hear. So my question is, will a system like this be a waste of money or help me?

I have an Onkyo 7.1 system upstairs and loved it when I was using it. However I would like a system downstairs now. I forget what model it was but it was a HTIAB from them. Bought a year or so back. Does not have HDMI on it.

I guess what I am saying is - I am not an audiophile. So if the sound is just barely noticeable, I probably won't notice it. However, I also want the best because that's just the way I shop.

Hope I am not confusing anyone and I make some sense. I love movie watching and can hear the surround sound, voices, whooshes and all that. Just not as good as most here can I guess? Its weird because I have been this way all my life so it's normal for me. I suppose I should be shooting for the best sound possible in my position?

Just open to ideas.
