JVC RX-D412B HDMI Card - Blu-ray Forum

I have a JVCRX-D412B 7.1 Receiver. Recently the HDMI output socket was broken accidentally. I have been told (by an authorized JVC repair facility) that the thing is irrepairable and that JVC do not supply a replacement HDMI card. Am I being "strung a line" or do I really have a rather expensive paperweight on my hands now? Any suggestions??

a "good" shop should be able to replace just the socket..
